And then you’re dead . . .

As a runner I tend to perk my ears up when I hear of other runners in the news. Yesterday I learned of a thirty-nine year old Eden Prairie, Minnesota, man who went out for his morning run and never came back. As of this writing, no foul play is suspected. That reads to me an awful lot like a case of his body just calling it for him a lot earlier than expected.

It’s so easy to coast through the days and the weeks and the years. But, to me, this and stories like it are needed grim reminders that it’s worth taking time to appreciate those things that bring you joy and love each and every day.
